Very hard for most of us to do, but learn to push your ego to the side for a while, long enough to let the other person fully reveal their brilliance.
Warning: if they are unaccustomed to being allowed much air time, this might be a very uncomfortable process for both of you.
You are just dying to unleash all those expert opinions of yours, those great ideas, and nuggets of advice - aren’t you? Resist.
Help them to develop their thinking - coach and encourage them.
This is a win, win for your relationship and you might just discover you have a shining light, right there in the midst of your team that you never even knew existed.
